At home we really like fajitas and tacos, but despite the fact that my boyfriend would have no problem in that we always prepare them with meat, I take the opportunity to vary with different fillings. We can also prepare them from fish, as with this recipe for hake tacos with a spicy sauce of fresh cheese.

There is really no mystery, you just have to cook the fish, prepare some fresh ingredients such as tomato or lettuce, and a light but flavorful sauce to make the filling juicy.

For 2 persons

  • 4 Fillet hake
  • Breadcrumbs needed
  • 2 Tomato
  • Fresh parsley a bunch (or coriander)

  • 100 g Skimmed fresh cheese
  • 2.5 ml Harissa or other spicy chili paste
  • Granulated garlic
  • Paprika
  • Ground black pepper
  • Salt
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 Flour or corn tortillas

How to make hake tacos with hot cheese sauce

Difficulty: easy

Total time: 25 minutes

Elaboration: 10 minutes

Cooking: 15 minutes

Lightly season the hake loins and pass them a little over breadcrumbs. Heat a little olive oil in a frying pan or griddle add them. Cook them on both sides over medium-high heat, until they are well browned but with the juicy meat. Add paprika to taste.

Cut the tomatoes into cubes, trying to remove the excess juice. Chop the parsley and chilli, if we use it, removing the seeds. Mix the beaten fresh cheese with the chilli paste, a little lime juice and a pinch of salt.

Crumble the fish into small portions. Place a tomato bed on the tortillas, distribute the hake and add parsley and chilli to taste. Dress with lime juice, a touch of pepper and sauce to taste.

What to accompany the hake tacos

The hake tacos with spicy fresh cheese sauce are great for a quick and nutritious meal, as they are very complete and satisfying without being heavy. We can use another white fish or vary the ingredients of the filling to our liking.
